How to Choose the Right Watch

A watch should suit your wrist before it suits a trend. Start by measuring your wrist circumference, then match it to a case diameter: 36–40 mm reads balanced on most wrists, while 42 mm and above makes a bolder statement.
Next, choose the strap. Leather is softer for formal wear and lighter in weight. Steel bracelets are more durable, easier to clean and better suited to daily use.
Finally, decide on movement. Quartz is accurate and low maintenance. Automatic movements need wearing or winding, but offer the mechanical character many collectors prefer.
